Basic Work Scope

Supervises and coordinates all operations and activities on assigned rig to ensure safe and timely completion of assigned drilling programs. Includes preparing work schedules; directing the work of subcontractors and service companies personnel involved in various operations, maintenance and repair activities; and monitoring rig operations costs to enhance the overall efficiency within budgeting constraints.

 

Tasks & Duties

a)        Supervises the activities of all personnel on assigned Rig. Performs supervisory functions at the level established by management for the position.

b)        Supervises drilling, completion activities on assigned rig as required, ensuring that drilling programs are adhered to at each step of the operation. Includes maintaining close liaison with the Drilling Superintendent and Engineers in field to report observations and recommending necessary changes to drilling program. Directs implementation of new instructions/program details where appropriate. Liaises with Engineers and Geologists on requirements for testing and setting of final well head installations. Continually assesses down-hole conditions, providing feedback to Engineers, identifying abnormalities and providing recommendations for corrective action.

c)         Plans, reviews and directs the receipt of materials and spares required for ongoing and contingent drilling operations on assigned rig. Includes planning requirements, reviewing and approving field requisitions for materials and consumables, directing the receipt/returns of required/excess materials to ensure availability of optimum level of materials and spares on assigned rigs.

d)        Supervises rig maintenance activities to ensure that all drilling equipment is in good working condition and directs preventive and/or break down maintenance/repairs as required. Includes ensuring that all equipment, fishing tools, tubular and run in the hole tools are available and regularly imputed in accordance with established procedures and maintenance schedules. Approves hot and cold work permits for maintenance and repairs activities and oversees shutdown maintenance to ensure appropriate safety measures are taken and rig down time is kept to minimum levels.

e)        Enforces safety regulations on assigned rig to ensure timely execution of assigned drilling program without prejudice to safety of assigned personnel, rig, well and reservoir. Includes supervising various emergency drills and monitoring performance of assigned crew to ensure readiness, promoting safety awareness and the practice of good housekeeping on assigned rig.

f)          Coordinates all rig movements including planning tool service requirements and materials in accordance with the defined drilling program. Includes inspecting well site, coordinating site preparation and road connections with Construction Section, providing detailed instructions to contractors for each stage of the rig move, liaising with other sections including safety, security and ensures that rig is correctly aligned on site. Follows up to ensure timely receipt of drilling tools, materials and equipment to rig site.

g)        Prepares and submits periodic (daily/weekly/monthly) reports covering drilling activities, problems encountered and safety drills. Submits the daily drilling reports to Superintendent and all relevant post. Reviews and approves the comments report when appropriate and maintains accurate records of all activities carried out on assigned rig.

h)        Carries out other similar or related duties such as representing the Company with all parties working on the rig (service personnel, contractors), reviewing existing work methods and recommending improvements to operations, safety and/or maintenance, keeping abreast of new developments in the drilling field and following up on amendments to Company policies and procedures and directing their implementation.

i)          Prepare work schedules; directing the work of subcontractors and service companies personnel involved in various operations, maintenance and repair activities; and monitoring rig operations costs to enhance the overall efficiency within budgeting constraints.

j)           Work with relevant departments of company for the drilling and completion operations arrangement. Supervises and coordinates all operations and activities on assigned rig to ensure safe and timely completion of assigned drilling programs.

k)         Onsite well operation management. QHSE management. Involving the post-operation analysis and lessons learnt. Update the inventory and materials status with Logistics section. Supervises rig maintenance activities to ensure that all drilling equipment is in good working condition.

l)          Plans, reviews and directs the receipt of materials and spares required for ongoing drilling operations on assigned rig. Coordinate relevant department and personnel for the logistics requirement to ensure the smooth well operations.


Certificates Requirement

ü  Drilling supervisor certificate or related certificate by authority.

ü  International valid well control certificate (IADC/IWCF) Supervisory Level (Level -4)

ü  'H2S' training certificate.

ü  Health certificate, such as Heart disease or sudden disease, HIV, Hepatitis B and other communicable diseases are forbidden.
